A small flock of mostly immature oystercatchers (immatures have the partial white neck collar) were on the rocks at Trebetherick point and were trying to gain new rock perches as the tide dropped. This was fine until that extra big wave flipped over the top which saw them taking flight amongst the surf and spray.

Having "dipped out" badly on the Greater Yellowlegs which was "in my backyard", and actually on the site that is visible from my bedroom I was delighted to get so close to the Sabines Gull on the river Camel today just on the edge of town.
Please read on for my photos and then take a look at Wills' video of both the Greater Yellowlegs and the Sabines Gull by clicking on their titles here.

Had a couple of hours last evening and again this morning on the rising tides on the Camel estuary at Trebetherick Point for passage waders.
There were lots of ringed plover, sanderling, dunlin & a few knot that were dodging the incoming waters and trying to grab a bit of "shut-eye" at the same time.
Here are a few images from the session.
